“Caster” is the general term used for magic users, but there are many classifications that determine what kind of caster someone is.
Casters can be of most species, excluding the undead, ghosts, and creatures with an intelligence rating of two or below (with the exception of necromancy being used by certain high-level undead).

Archmage
Archmage is a title granted only to those who have achieved mastery in at least four of the five magic schools (elementalism, witchery, necromancy, mental, or healing and herbalism). There have been very few archmages in history and even fewer survive to this day. The ICMEA keeps tabs on all the officially recognized archmages but will not release their information for security reasons.
Elemental Casters
Elementalist – Caster specializing in one or more elemental magics, the general term
Pyromancer – Fire magic

Sorcerer/Sorceress – Caster specializing in necromancy, illusionary and conjuring magics
Seer – Caster specializing specifically in divination

Necromancer – Caster specializing in magics relating to the dead or undead
Conjurer – Caster specializing in conjuring magic
Sorcerer/Sorceress – Caster specializing in necromancy, illusionary and conjuring magics
Warlock – Caster specializing in entrapment/enthralling magics
Enchanter/Enchantress – Caster specializing in illusionary and enthralling magics
